Abstract of Background

Mr. Walker's practice focuses on patent prosecution and litigation for high technology clients. Mr. Walker's practice also includes trademark and copyright prosecution and litigation. He has represented clients regarding telecommunications, biotechnology, manufacturing processes, video game hardware, analog integrated circuits, semiconductor processing, software, publishing and sporting equipment. Litigation examples include representing wireless telephone manufacturer in defense of telecommunication patent claims; representing automated telephone call processing system patent holder against multiple defendants; representing disease diagnostics company in patent litigation and commercial arbitration; representing graphics chip manufacturer in patent defenses; representing drug discovery company in jury trial over patent litigation; representing exercise machine marketer in jury trial over contract dispute; representing record company in defense of copyright claims; and representing government in criminal trial prosecution.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Walker was a partner with the firm of Cooley Godward Kronish LLP, an associate attorney at the Los Angeles intellectual property and entertainment law firm of Fischbach, Perlstein, Lieberman and Yanny, a law clerk in the Civil Defense branch of the L.A. City Attorney's Office and an Industrial Engineer with the Southern California Gas Company. Mr. Walker was named to the 2007 and 2009 Southern California Super Lawyers - San Diego list in the category of Intellectual Property Litigation.

Mr. Walker received a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Oklahoma State University in 1986 where he was selected as one of the Top Five graduating seniors in Engineering. He received a J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 1994 while working full time.

Mr. Walker is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Central, Northern and Eastern Districts of California, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Federal and Ninth Circuits and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
